The Journey

A little rusty I am sure, but here goesSmile

There were the early days,
The days when I thought I would win.
Blessed with the sun rays,
Life as I would come to know it, was yet to begin.

As days passed, the sun became strong
Making life easy or was I wrong?
I had left the string too loose,
The sun had set and the kite was about to fall .

I passed the night that way,
Fighting the cold and dew.
My destination was about to bend,
The rocky land was making it tough.
But I will reach the mountain
Undeterred by the rough.

Hello World-a thought and a poem!

I know I have been playing truant. To that effect I am sorry.Blame it on the sessional exams, the MUNs,and being in the O.C. of a college event.
However, now I am back. With regular posts-and I know that’s a promise I have made often and broken more times in the past!
So as a comeback,I will write about what I have been thinking over the last few hours. Also,I have included in a small poem.Non-sensical mind you,but still very sensible.
Mind you,the thought and the poem have no connection and are essentially two different posts. But that would mean, opening a new tab for another post and selecting all the options.Say hello to my new trait-LAZINESS,
Cheers,
N

What follows is a thought. Just that. Think about it. I am currently reading “The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari” and the book has set my mind on fire. It has further corroborated what I have believed all my life since I had the brains to think from; only believed because I never had the courage to really follow it completely. Isn’t it strange that all of us want to become similar things (rich, famous etc.) in life despite all being so very different people that we hardly can agree on any issue at all, ranging from the ill- effects of a mosquito-bite to the 123 Agreement? Isn’t it strange all of us recognize the importance of studying very hard whereas none the importance, or worse still, the pleasure of walking barefoot on dew-besotten grass? We are all so smitten with becoming what the world wants us to that we completely forget what we want ourselves to become. Life is so driven by an external remote that we completely forget about the steering wheel sitting plumb right in our own hands. Take control before it’s too late. We all have pasts and presents riddled with aspects that we wish rather wouldn’t be there. Stop. Do not wish. Act. Let them not be there. Let’s fill our minds with all things positive. Remove all negativity gradually and silently without telling it about its expatriation, so that it doesn’t make itself larger and more tempting than ever before, making our tough job still tougher. Let’s take “the road less travelled by”. It’s less easy and hence more rewarding.
Friends, I, for one, have started the process of stopping (albeit in a very small way)-doing what others expect and want me to.I dare you.Do the same.

Animals At It

British, bow-tied
birds do it,
bees do it.
Even educated
fleas do it.

Soft and suave
snakes do it,
shrimps do it.
Proper party-going
chimps do it.

Center-parted
cats do it,
crocodiles do it.
Rich, reputable
frogs do it.

Gloriously gentle
swans do it,
hen do it.
And then the shrieking, cursing
men do it.

Why Does That Happen?

Found this short poem while going through my diary from last year.Sharing with you doesn’t hurt any,so here goes!
………………………..
Why Does That Happen?

From all the time to once a week,
From meetings to emails,
From calls to texts,
Why does that happen?

From so close to secretive,
From acceptance to accusations,
From forgiveness to bitterness,
Why does that happen?

From understanding to confusion,
From laughter to silence,
From sureness to jealousy,
Why does that happen?

From love to indifference,
From caring to convenience,
From best friends to acquaintances,
Why does that happen?

Unwritten Memories

Eat, drink, sleep, work. The hundred banalities of a nondescript existence. Where is life when you want to describe it?
A request-can you all,for once,curse our education system?!
Here’s a small poem though!
—————————————————————————————

All the doubts I never bared
All the fears I never shared
All the works I would never quote
And all the poems I never wrote.
All the stories that remain untold.
The narrative that is yet to unfold.
Your past and present, all that is hidden.
A half-portrait serendipity drew unbidden.

Those threads of conversations, this tapestry of our making;
From the start, we only wove this tableau of inevitable parting!

Blabbering

I gather it’s about time for a poem on the blog.Nothing’s coming to my mind(is that what they call writer’s block?!).So I will just blabber!

………………………………………….
Sunbathing at midnight,
Chasing stars in daylight,
Swimming in the desert,
Crying at your sight.
Talking with my mouth closed,
Seeing with no eyes,
Dancing when I am crippled,
Tethered with no ties.

Spinning while I am still,
Finding time to kill,
Dead but still alive,
Stabbing with no knives.
A soul full of inmates who have no crime,
Feelings with no emotion,
Making riddles with no rhyme.

Are these contradictions,
Words that make no sense,
Or is there a hidden meaning,
Stained in the contents?
